Advocating for safer one-on-one working environments
Building your own client-facing business or working alone shouldn't mean feeling unsafe. We are here to help change that. Through free resources, an online community, incident reporting, (& webinars coming soon) we aim to create safer one-on-one working environments. At The Safer Project, we aim to help tackle this through awareness, support & advocacy.
"I wish I had the resources and a community like this when I first started working in the massage & fitness industry. Topics around safety can often be disregarded and brushed off, and I am hoping The Safer Project can work to help to change that"

Meet the founder
Emma Hayes
Emma is a clinic owner, sports & vocal massage therapist and fitness instructor based in Nottinghamshire, UK.
Since starting her business in 2020, she has realised the lack of support available to solo practitioners, not knowing where to turn in uncomfortable situations that may involve compromised professional boundaries & inappropriate client behaviour, and is frankly fed up with these topics being brushed off and dismissed by others.
Emma has decided to help build the resource that didn't exist for her when she needed it. With her experience in the field, she hopes to bring her professional experience to everything The Safer Project produces - whether that's a guide on setting boundaries, a workshop for a clinic team, or a quiet safe space for someone to share what happened to them.
